Is it okay to water my lawn just before dark? I live in south Alabama and have Bermuda grass. I turn the sprinkle on for an hour, about 6 pm every other day. The lawn is green even with this drought but a friend told me that the wet grass at night will mold.

You're courting disaster if you water late in the evening. Your friend is right; a lawn that remains wet overnight is more susceptible to fungal diseases. The key is the number of hours that the grass blades remain wet. A few hours is okay, but studies show 6 or more hours place grasses at risk. If there is some way for you to water in the early morning, say 5 or 6 a.m., I'd recommend doing it then. That way, when the sun comes up, it will dry the grass blades and your lawn won't be quite so susceptible to developing fungal diseases.
