We planted some young Mexican palm trees (about 6 in diameter) last month. Why are the palms turning yellow? Are they getting too much water or not enough?

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Yellowing fronds are due to stress. It could be the transplanting shock but it is more likely either drought or soggy wet (poorly drained) root conditions. Try to keep the soil moist but not soggy.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
