I have a nice bed around my mailbox. It sits in direct sun and I am needing something with color that I can plant now and will come back every spring/summer? I was thinking a creeping plhox. Would this work?

Creeping phlox is a good choice, as is Gaillardia (Blanket Flower). This plant flowers in red or yellow, is heat tolerant. Sanvitalia, or Creeping Zinnia, flowers in orange or yellow, is low growing and heat tolerant.

Best wishes with your new plants.
