|What kind of flower bearing shrub will thrive in 100% full sun all day long? Also, I planted to Jasmine plants and put them onto trellises to frame my garage window. There is shade there from the garage awning until noon, and then sun until dusk. Will it grow there okay?|
|Your jasmine should be just fine. For a flowering shrub, consider Bridal Wreath Spirea (S. prunifolia "Plena") - graceful arching branches on a 6' by 6' shrub. Dark green foliage turns rich red in fall. Small double white flowers like roses line branches in spring.
Common Snowball Viburnum (V. opulus "Sterile") -very popular 10' rounded shrub. Blooms profusely with large double white flowers in mid to late spring. Excellent, showy variety.
Japanese Snowball (V. plicatum plicatum) - dark green foliage on a 15' shrub. Leaves turn purplish-red in fall. Snowball clusters of white sterile flowers 3' across, borne in opposite rows along horizontal branches. Fall color, and spectacular flowers make this an outstanding shrub.
Weigela Pink Princess (w. Florida"Rosea" "Pink Princess") - to 10' tall. Outstanding bloom of 1" long pink and rose-red flowers. Full sun to part shade.
Variegated Weigela (W. Florida"Variegated") - bright green foliage variegated with cream. Showy and popular.
Hope one of these shrubs is just right for your landscape!
