What can I plant in the high desert of northern New Mexico that will keep jack rabbits from devouring my flower garden? I'm unable to build a fence right now.

I don't know of any plants, but I have a few suggestions for repellents: coyote urine (available from the Burpee catalog - www.burpee.com or ph# 800/888-1447); blood meal and/or talcum powder dusted on leaves; dog hair from a pet groomer spread like mulch around the garden. Alternate the use of these different repellents to keep the rabbits from figuring out the game - they get used to things quickly once they realize there's no real danger. Hope this helps!
