| I have a plum tree that has black knot. In the spring all of the infected areas were cut out and burned. It looked well and it bloomed really well. Now there are quit a few nice looking plums, but I noticed that the black knot is coming back and spreading very quickly. Is there any thing that I can use on it while the fruit is present. I know you can use lyme sulfer right around bloom time but I don't know if it would be safe to use now. Thanks, Dawn Miller |
| No fungicides are currently recommended for black knot control. However, the application of fungicides such as captan and benomyl to control brown rot will also help to control black knot. Follow label directions for frequency of spraying required and how soon before harvest you need to stop spraying. Best wishes with your plum tree. |
