geranium leaves that turn yellow. plant is in a hanging basket. Pull off? and dispose of?

Discolored leaves should be removed promtly. Cut them off neatly and dispose of them in the trash. A few yellowing leaves at the base of the plant is not unusual. However, you might want to inspect them carefully for signs of insect or disease issues.

Also, be sure you are watering your plant correctly. The soil should be kept slightly damp like a wrung out sponge. It should not be sopping wet or dried out. Use your finger to check the soil and know if you need to water. When you water, apply it slowly and thoroughly so it is soaking into the soil and not running out between the side of the container and the soil. Also avoid wetting the leaves when you water. Finally, be sure the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot is working and empty the drainage saucer (if there is one) after watering.
