| We live in the country and have a large space we use for a garden. This year we rototilled the soil several times (4 times) and added chicen manure. Then we planted small vegetable plants about a month later. Upon watering the plants with a drip line, grass and weeds have grown throughout the garden, choking out the plants, more so than any other year before. They've taken over the garden. Why so much grass? Is there a way to kill or remove the grass or suppress it's growth so we're not overrun with it? |
| In a veggie garden, I'd recommend trying to suffocate the grasses by covering all the bare soil with several thicknesses of newspaper (anchor it down with pieces of bent coathangers, rocks, etc., or cover it with organic matter). When you keep light and water away, weeds won't be such a problem. Or, you could cover the bare areas with black plastic. Best wishes with your garden! |
