|What information can you give me about square carrots? Are there such a thing and how are they grown? is it only a short blocky carrot or is it manipulated by a container?|
|Carrots are generally conical or cylindrical in growth habit, except the Nantes type, which is short and squat, with a uniform thickness from crown to tip. If you're looking for a square (actually rectangular) carrot, this might be the variety for you. Try growing Burpee's 'Toudo'.
It's doubtful that a mold can be used to manipulate the shape of a carrot. Root crops take their nourishment directly from the soil via small root hairs. A mold would interfere with this process.
