|My Japanese Maple tree got caught in the freeze and now it looks dead and except for a few leaves on the bottom the rest of the stems are bare. Should I cut the tree down or cut the stems off.|
|If you want to keep your Japanese maple, prune off all the obviously dead stems and branches. As it grows, it will produce a new central leader and will eventually grow as tall as it was before. If you don't want to wait that long, you could replace your tree with a healthy new one.
Best wishes with your maple!
