The most common cause for yellowing and dying of tomato plants is early blight, a fungal disease. While you can use a fungicide to help your plants avoid this disease, once the disease has developed, it is difficult to control. If the plants are dead, remove them from the garden. Next year, plant resistant cultivars in a different spot in the garden.
