A friend gave me a trumpet or honey suckle vine volunteer. I brought it home and planted it and the vine withered. Will it come up at a latter time?

It might come back from the roots. Keep the soil evenly moist like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet/saturated and not dried out. Mulching around it will help with the soil moisture. Use an organic mulch about two to three inches thick over the root area, do not allow it to touch the stem. This is the most stressful time of year to transplant, so you might try again either in September or very early spring as soon as the ground can be dug. You could also try rooting a tip cutting to plant this fall. Good luck with your honeysuckle!
