You're not crazy, you're just asking for the wrong name. You're looking for Burro's Tail or Donkey's Tail, which is Sedum morganianum. It's quite popular, an easy to grow succulent that creates pink blooms in the spring. When the plant grows longer, it creates long, drooping tendrils of up to several feet which look (of course) like a burro's tail. If you can't find it at a local nursery, you might be able to find an online source, but since these plants multiply rapidly, you may only need to pot up those that show up in the cracks of your driveway.
