Soil Testing for Growing Vegetables - Knowledgebase Question

I've had various unsuccessful attempts at a vegetable garden (yard not containers). I'm wondering if I should have the soil tested. Also, the corner I have for the garden has a lawn sprinkler in it, should I move it?

Julie,

It is always a good idea to have your soil tested if you haven't in a while..if ever. Your County Extension Office can provide info on how to do this. Their contact info is:
6021 South Conway Road
Orlando, FL 32812-3604
Office: (407) 254-9200

Gardening is not that difficult if you follow a few basic points. First make sure your garden gets adequate sun. Work a few inches of compost into the surface of the soil prior to planting, especially in a new garden spot. The following web site offers more great info:

I would probably cap off the sprinkler and use a hose in the garden
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
