What is the difference between regular liquid iron and chelated iron?

Is iron good or bad for my plants and how often/when should I apply it?

I have a mixture of acid and non acid plants/shrubs and empire zoysia grass.

thank you for your answer.

Chelated iron is attached to a molecule that keeps it from being so easily tied up to the soil and thus not available to plants. Iron deficiency shows up as yellowing between the leaf veins on the new growth. If you see deficiency symptoms a supplement is useful, otherwise I don't suggest you apply iron.
