We had a short retaining wallbuilt around the yard.They did not leave and weepage holes. We drilled a few in the front,but the side wall mortar is too hard. Our landscape slopes downward from the house and then downward to the front of the yard.When it rains alot as it has lately, we have standing water on thelower side of the yard and in the back corner. Any inexpensive ideas to fix this? Yhe landscaping company will not return because this is a smalljob and they have more important big job to do.
If I understand the situation you may need to visit the Home Depot tool department and inquire about drilling bits that can go through that wall with more ease. You can also bury a perforated pipe in the soil and slope it gradually down to a place where the water that enters the pipe to exit the area. This is called a French drain.
