My sources suggest that dogwoods are difficult to propagate from cuttings but that they can be easily propagated from seeds. So, I suggest you try both methods. Cuttings are taken in the spring from new growth; dip the cut end in rooting hormone and place each in moistened sand. Keep the sand moist and the cuttings should root in a few weeks. Hope this works for you!
