| 3 YR OLD TRUMPET VINE.VERY HEALTHY GROWING RAPIDLY YET IT HAS NEVER FLOWERED. SO FAR NO BUDS YET. CAN YOU OFFER ANY SUGGESTIONS.
|Trumpet vine, like other vines, takes several years to become well rooted and established so your plant may still be settling in. It needs full direct sun all day, or for a minimum of six hours including the hour of noon, to bloom well. Also, overfertilizing with nitrogen can lead to excess foliage growth and reduced flowering. Finally, pruning at the wrong time can reduce flowering. This vine blooms on the new growth of the season so if it needs pruning, do that in very early spring. Pruning during summer can remove the flowering wood and flower buds. I hope this helps you trouble shoot.|
