|I have acquired an unnamed begonia variety that I wish to identify. It is a rhizomatous type. Leaves are maple shaped 3-4 inches across when mature. The leaf color is dark green with cream/apple green central spot at vein junction and apple green bandof color along veins. The undersides of leaves are burgundy red. There are small hairs over the entire leaf surface, which become less prominent as the leaves age. The leaves are pendant on 8-10 inch stems. Can you help me out?|
|I checked the references we have here and couldn't find any fitting that description. (Our references are limited, however.)
I suggest you contact one of the following organizations:
Canadian Begonia Society, 70 Enfield Ave., Toronto, ON M8W 1T9
American Begonia Society, 157 Monument Rd., Rio Dell, CA 95532, ph# 707-764-5407
I hope they can help!
