I have a dwarf Cypress Albertus tree and an ornamental cypress albertus tree with 6-7 balls. When is a good time to prune these trees? Any tips for pruning?

Spring is the best time to prune cypress trees. Your poodle-trimmed cypress should be pruned in spring, as well. To keep the shape, rub out any growth that appears along the bare stems and trunk and just trim each of the balls into roundish shapes. Your dwarf cypress can be reduced by a few inches each spring to keep it looking neat and trim.

Best wishes with your shrubs!
