I want to sell my house in December and my agent said I need to do some landscaping. My front yard faces west, and gets direct sun during the hottest parts of the day. I want low maintenance (I HATE yardwork) color that will stay through the Fall (it's hot through early-October around here). Please advise...

There are plants that will bloom in fall but when the first frost arrives the blooms will be gone. In Arlington by December it will be too late for fall bloomers. I think you can plant such things but your best bet for a December home showing is to plant Dusty Miller and Pansies or Viola in November. Light blue and dark blue pansies and violas combine well with dusty miller.
