Cannas do best in warm weather in a location with rich, evenly moist soil and full sun. Starting with larger rhizomes will yield larger plants more quickly. And, some varieties are more vigorous than others. Make sure they are in full direct sun all day long, water deeply as needed to supplement rain, top dress with compost and use an organic mulch to help feed the soil and also help keep the soil moist. If you have not fertilized, you could do that as well. I hope this helps.
