Coleus prefers shade to sun but it likes a bright shade. Indoors you will have to put it in a very bright area, perhaps with some direct sun in a window in order for it to stay stocky and not get lanky as it stretches for light. Pinch the tips out of the shoots periodically to encourage it to branch and grow into a fuller, denser form. Maintain moderate soil moisture and fertilize only lightly every month or so.
