What trees can I grow in large containers that face north in zone 12? |
As long as your site gets plenty of sun and is somewhat protected from wind, you can grow citrus, figs, star magnolia and brugmansia, among others, in containers. Crucial to their survival is keeping the plants sufficiently watered and fertilized to support their growth. Wood or ceramic containers are the best choices because they stay cooler than plastic and are more durable than clay. Also, choose a potting mix that contains some soil or humus so it won't dry out too quickly. Good luck withyour potted garden! |
