|I planted some Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum sp) outside my door in a shady spot. Some of the flowers turn brown-black on the edges and some stay green for long periods of time. Should I remove these blooms when I see them. Is this plant even okay for outdoors in South Florida, especially in summer?
Those brown-black blooms are affected by some fungal or bacterial disease. Prune them out and discard them in the trash. Try not to wet the blooms or foliage when not necessary and the problem will generally not become too severe. The plant will do well if you keep the soil moist and keep it in plenty of shade.
