What type of garden can you recommend with flowers which do not attach bees or wasps. I have a small yard with a patio however my daughter and I both have allergic reactions to bees and wasps and want to enjoy our backyard in the summer. What would you suggest.... |
If you have flowers in bloom, they will attract bees so I can only suggest you plant non-flowering trees and shrubs, or you plant night-blooming perennials such as night-blooming jasmine. Bees and wasps are busiest from dawn until dusk. Any flower that's open during those hours will attract them. Choose non-blooming evergreens with the leaf color and shape you like to make your garden attractive. You can add splashes of color with caladiums and coleus. If plants begin to flower, simply cut the flowers off and you should be able to control the bee population in your garden. Best wishes with your landscape. |
