|I am looking for DEER PROOF shade/semi-shade shrups, perennials, flowers.
Did you ever hear of Lenten Roses as being deerproof and could be grown in semi-shade?
|Hellebores (lenten roses) will grow in shade, in morning only sun, or dappled light all day; avoid afternoon-only sun locations. They are reported to be deer resistant. Unfortunately, deer tend to bother a wide variety of plants and although something may be considered deer resistant, that is not always going to mean deer proof.
You might also consider shrubs such as boxwood, Pieris japonica, holly, and shrub dogwood (Cornus sericea) along with perennials such as ferns, Japanese anemones, columbine, Cimicifuga, Dicentra, and Tiarella for the above types of lighting situations.
You may find the following lists helpful in your planning as well. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.
