|In my sunniest flower bed this year I have gotten a lot of sticker burrs. I have never had them before. How can I get rid of these weeds and their very unwelcome seeds besides pulling them? As I said, they are in a flower bed, so I do not want to spray something that might harm my flowers. Also, I have a long-haired miniature dachshund and they are uncomfortable for her in her fur and a hassle to brush out. In addition, I do not want to spray something that could possibly make her sick, as she does like to eat grass. Also, just out of curiosity, why would some of my grape hyacinths be coming up now? There are products that will kill grassy weeds without harming most broadleaved flowering plants. Grass killers (have ingredients like fluazifop and sethoxydim) are sold in a number of over the counter products. However if there are already sticker bur seeds on the plants these products won't prevent them from coming up in another season.
