There are many different insect controls available from chemical sprays and treatments to biological products. According to modern Integrated Pest Management guidelines, we need to identify the pest first and then based on knowing that, determine if control is needed. Then if control is indicated, we would look for the least toxic means available to achieve effective control. Sometimes what to use depends on which specific plant is being affected or on what time of the year the problem is occurring. Sometimes you can control an insect by changing your cultural practices and no treatment other than that is needed. If you are having trouble with a particular insect, I would suggest you work with your local county extension to identify the pest and decide what to do. If a chemical control is needed, they will have the most up to date information on what to use and how/when is best to use it for maximum results. I'm sorry I can't give you a more specific answer based on the4 information in your question.
