I have a rose bush although very healthy looking has never had even a bud on it all season? I have many other roses in the same area and they have all bloomed.

Based on your description I am not certain what the problem is, however I suspect you may have one of the varieties that blooms only on old wood that grew the year before. If this is the case, and you prune it hard in the spring as you would typically prune a hybrid tea rose, then you might never see a flower on it. Next spring, limit pruning to removal of dead canes only and see if your rose blooms for you. If needed, prune lightly after flowering. Good luck!
