I have a problem with deer eating all my plants especially Hosta. The other day in the morning I had three ofthem crossing the lawn in the back of the house. I tried spraying deer repelent on them but it does not seem to work effectively. Any sugestion on how to keep them away.

Deer can be a difficult problem once your plantings are on their regular browse trail. Sometimes alternating different repellent sprays (be sure to read and follow the label directions) will help. With shorter plants such as hostas (which happen to be a deer favorite) you may be able to protect the plants with wire mesh. But in my experience, the most reliable long term protection is a tall fence. I wish I could be more encouraging.
