|I am originally from Illinois where we could buy a mild to sweet green-colored pepper called a melrose pepper from farmer's markets. It is more oblong then a bell pepper but not as long and thin as banana pepper and it tends to be light to dark green in color. I have been searching for 2 years for seeds and have had no luck. Can you help?|
|SUZANNE, DO YOU HAVE A SOURCE FOR THIS? IF NO, HERE IS AN ANSWER. THX, KD
Well, I couldn't pin down this variety specifically but there is a possibility it is known under another name. We find a lot of peppers folks are looking for from ThePepper Gal, a mail order source. A catalog is available with MANY pepper descriptions listed, perhaps you could request the catalog and check out the descriptions. You may find this pepper under another name. Here is the address and phone number:
The Pepper Gal
P.O. Box 23006
Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33307-3006
Another possible source, though I didn't see it in their catalog, is Tomato Growers Supply, PO Box 2237, Fort Myers, FL 33902;; ph# 888-478-7333. They have lots of peppers in addition to tomatoes.
I hope you find what you are looking for, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
