Your zip code places you in USDA winter hardiness zone 5A or the coldest part of zone 5. This is extremely cold for hybrid tea roses. You will need to protect hybrid tea roses with a heavy mulch over the root area, plus by heaping a cone of soil over the base of the canes. You may also need to cover them with a rose cone or other extreme measures. If you are growing some of the hardier landscape shrub roses or Rugosa roses, however, a heavy mulch over the roots should be adequate protection. Good luck with your roses this winter!
