|I have 2 questions.
1) I have 2 dogs and as they use alot the backyard and burn some spots in tha grass I want to know what product I can use to save the grass.
2) I found in my backyard some snails and want to know what can I do. What product can I use that will not effect my dogs and by baby boy.
|Dog urine is alkaline and contains concentrations of salts, so it has problably thrown the soil pH off a little. I suggests raking about an inch of compost into the area. The compost contains soil organisms that can help balance to the soil biology and chemistry. Then broadcast grass seed over the prepared area. If your dog usually uses your lawn for relief, douse the area with a hose to dilute the effect of the urine soon after the fact. Consider also giving the dog his/her own area and fencing it in while you enjoy the rest of the lawn.
Snail control with an iron based product such as Sluggo should get rid of the slugs without harming children or pets. Any bait that is not ingested by snails or slugs will biodegrade and become part of the soil in your garden.
Best wishes with your garden!
