I apologize for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Spinach likes cool to cold weather conditions. Wait until October in your area to plant and you might want to start seeds in transplant trays in bright shade for moving out to the garden a few weeks later. It can also be planted in late winter. The following web site provides more info:
