|If watered deeply and infrequently during the growing season, Hardenbergia (lilac vine) will develop a deep and extensive root system to help it withstand drought. The roots will gravitate towards moisture so if you're watering other landscape plants within 3-4', you can expect to find the roots of your lilac vine intermingling with the roots of those plants. Hope this answers your question!
