|Do green houses work in flordia and if they do how do they help? I want to use it to start seeds and grow trees in there and plant them out side.|
|Greenhouses are generally used in areas with cold winters, so plants can grow in a springlike atmosphere. Greenhouses would be a bit of an overkill in a warm winter area such as Florida. You should be able to start seeds and grow trees outdoors in a protected area such as a covered patio or carport. The important things to provide are shade from direct sunshine, humidity to keep the potting soil from drying out and temperatures of about 70 degrees. Depending upon the types of seeds you're growing, you'll want the temperatures to remain above 40F overnight so time your seed starting venture so the lowest temperatures remain above 40F. You can sow your seeds and cover the trays or pots with plastic wrap (like a mini-greenhouse) until the seeds germinate. Once they're up and growing, remove the plastic and keep the trays watered often enough to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet.
Best wishes with your seed starting project!
