Freesias are native to South Africa. If the flowers are allowed to ripen, the plants will self-sow. Plant 2-inches deep, pointed end up, in well-drained garden soil, or plant 2-inches apart in containers filled with commercial potting mix. At the end of the season the plants will dry up. Move the pots indoors in the winter time and place them in a sunny windowsill. They'll rest for a while and then send up new shoots. Set the plants outside again in the spring. Plants are easily started from seed sown in July or August.
