|have had problem last 2 years-impatiens grow well then just when they are looking their best, some thing seems to eat all the leaves off.The main stems are completely devoid of leaves.I find no worms, or anything on the plants. In just a few days they seem to be devoured. they are not killed, as the plants do not completely die.On some plants the only thing left seems to be just the main stem. thank you for your help.|
Very strange. If the leaves are indeed being eaten off the possible culprits include grasshoppers, caterpillars (look in the surface inch of soil around the plants as many are nocturnal and stay in the soil during the day), or perhaps a beetle. You need to find out what is doing it for us to prescribe the correct remedy. Try also going out with a flashlight at night as this may help you catch the guilty part in the act.
