|Our yard (a clay silt loam) looks like a crawfish farm most of the time. We're improving drainage as fast and well as possible. Can you point me in a direction to locate information about chemical eradication of the existing population of crawfish?
|The basic problem in applying a chemicals in your situation is that they'll drain right into the ground water. A safer approach is to create a barrier trench around your yard. Dig a trench with a gentle slope on the outer side, and a vertical wall onthe inner side. If you find the crawfish still clamber up a verical face, place another barrier at the top of the steep wall, and angle it down and into the trench. This should keep them out, and create another drainage ditch to help dry out your yard. Hope this helps!
