I have gardenias growing in my garden, but they are growing too tall. How can I make them stay small and bushy?? |
Gardenias should be pruned after they bloom. At that time you can cut them back as far as you desire. I have cut mine back to within a foot of the ground and they came back. After getting them to the size you want, prune them after they bloom each year and you can keep them at that size. Gardenias need a fertile, acid soil with plenty of moisture. A shifting high pine shade is best. |
