I planted a dozen purple verbana around a palm tree in my back yard. Some of these plants are very dark purple and healthy looking. Some are rather fraile looking and their blooms aren't as full or healthy looking. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

You didn't say how long ago you planted your verbena. If it was recently, it's possible that the puny looking plants are just trying to get established. If you planted them 3-4 weeks ago (or longer) I suspect the plants are not happy with the soil, water or sunshine they're getting. Try cutting them back just a bit to encourage healthy new growth. Make sure they're getting enough sunshine and that they are getting enough, but not too much water. Trimming them back a little should prompt the development of healthy new growth.

Best wishes with your verbena!
