|I would like to split my Bleeding Hearts. I have a pink one and white one. When is the best time and how do I split them?|
|In the spring, after they have finished blooming but before the stems die down, you can divide your bleeding hearts. They have brittle roots so the best approach is to use two garden forks on opposite sides of the plant and rock them back and forth to work the root mass out of the ground, then cut the rootmass into several divisions and replant.
Best wishes with your bleeding hearts.
