|The green you see is algae, and usually grows on wet surfaces in the presence of sunlight. If the soil dries out, the algae will die. It won't hurt the plants but you can scrape it off if you wish, or you can mix it into the soil. It will die without sunlight but it might add tiny amounts of organic matter to your soil as it decomposes.|
