|I planted some rhubarb crowns at my mountain home last year and it came up and grew very well but when it put out leaves this spring it developed a seed stalk in the center of each plant. How should I handle this situiation|
|As soon as you recognize a seed stalk is forming, cut it off the plant. Otherwise, your rhubarb plant will spend all its energy developing seeds instead of edible stalks. Cutting the seed stalk down won't harm your plant.
Best wishes with your garden!
