i have flower that makes ya think larks spur this has yellow flowers with a tail. Grows in Norman, OK Judi |
It could be a larkspur (Delphinium luteum), although these are rare. Delphinium luteum flowers are hollow and five-petalled, with a spur at the end. They grow best in moist, shady places. Or, it might be a yellow columbine (Aquilegia flavescens). The flowers are 2", all pale yellow, with 5 spreading, petal-like sepals and 5 tubular petals with inward-hooked rearward spurs. They bloom June-August and they grow best in full sunshine, in well draining soils. |
