Thank you for the info on the bottom half of my tree which snapped. But what about the top? Will making a clean cut on the base of the jagged end produce new roots? Is there a product to increase the production of roots so that I can replant the top half? Or am I just wasting my time? Thanks again.

You're probably just wasting your time, but if you really want to try....

cut the base of the top so it isn't jagged and then dip it in rooting hormone and set it in a pot of moistened potting soil. Keep the potting soil moist but not soggy wet and cross your fingers. It may surprise us all and produce roots. Hope so!
