does fertilizer go bad? I have a bag that is a couple of years old, should I still use it?

If the bag is very old and has been exposed to moisture, the fertilizer may lose some of its potency. However, the best way to dispose of old fertilizer is to use it up according to label directions. I'd go ahead and use it. The worse that can happen is that you'll have to fertilize again or sooner than normal.

Best wishes with your garden!
