Newly planted trees and shrubs can go through a stressful period until their roots become established in their new homes. Feeding will probably just add to the stress so don't feed them again until after you see new growth. The best thing you can do for your roses is to water them deeply once a week (twice a week if the weather is hot). To make sure they're getting adequate moisture try making a watering basin or watering well beneath each rose by mounding up a few inches of soil in a circle around the rose, about 12" away from the main stems. Fill this basin with water, allow to drain, then fill it a second time. This method of watering will concentrate the moisture directly over the root mass and allow it to trickle down, wetting the entire root system. When you see new growth you can prune out any dead stems or canes. I think your roses will recover, as long as they are watered regularly. Best wishes with your new roses. |
