I recently purchased two artichoke plants. The nursery where I live didn't have a clue. Please advise how far apart I should plant them. Should they be in full sun in? Any special tips for actually having them produce?

Plant your artichokes 4-6 feet apart in a sunny location. After growth starts, water thoroughly once a week, wetting the entire root system. In your hot summer area, try to provide late afternoon shade, either shadows cast from a tree, or from a fence, or even from a frame you've erected and covered with shade cloth. You can expect to harvest chokes in late August or early September, just before the buds open into purple thistle-like flowers.
